How to translate digital economy into development
At the AfricaTech event, as part of AfricaCom 2019, which took place from 12 to 14 November in Cape Town, South Africa, I asked: “Can we have an e-commerce platform in Africa that competes with the world’s largest e-commerce platforms? My vision is positive. I do believe so.
In this session where I had the pleasure of being a keynote speaker, “Translating digital information into economic growth and prosperity”, I made the point that we can find solutions in technology and digital economy for the main problems that we have today in the African continent. We have a growing population and the largest generation of young people ever. There is enormous human potential.
That is why investment has to be made in technology, in the training of these people and with the aim of making Africa digital, inclusive, focused on business, development and job creation and on conditions for the Africans.
